I acknowledge that this might be a big skill issue on my part but I can't get past the first five minutes of the gameplay and I tried for about an hour. The static is constantly growing and doesn't stay at bay for long - there's not really much time to take in your surroundings at all as you have to constantly move forward. The furthest I got was the corridor with the two closable doors on either side but I then quickly got overwhelmed and it seemed like the static caught up with me from behind and I died. I really wish there was a crosshair so I could see exactly where I was shooting as well as an indication for how many bullets the gun has expended with indication of when to reload optimally. It's a damn shame because I do want to experience the game - the aesthetic intrigues me a lot and the opening conversation made me want to know more. I don't know if there'll be an update to the game or if you have any tips on how to git gud and proceed, it would be appreciated.
Oh no it's not a skill issue this game's just really difficult. The dying repeatedly is basically just how the game works. It's a yaoi game with kaizo mario difficulty because I was in a weird place when I made it. I recommend editing your save to skip levels you're stuck on. I don't really have any tips besides "shoot from as far back as possible, hold down the mouse button instead of clicking, and memorize the timing pattern your gun fires/reloads in".
I won't be adding a crosshair or ammo counter because I initially had both of those things and removed them on purpose.
Your save file can be found in the "Bossfight she loved you_Data/Data/Saves" folder. There's instructions telling you how to edit your save file. The value you're editing is called "level" not "currentScene" which is what the instructions says it's called, because evidently I changed a variable name at some point and forgot to update the instructions. But the rest of the instructions are correct.
Much appreciated and it makes me feel less bad about my video gaming skills to know the game is intentionally kaizo tier difficult. I can respect the decision thus to not have an ammo counter nor crosshair for the sake of intentionally immersive difficulty. The gameplay advice is helpful and I will be attempting to progress further naturally with it!
I do appreciate the 'cheat' to skip the levels that are to difficult to beat get to the yaoi VN portions!
